Carbonio bundles all the tools for daily teamwork under a single web interface: email, calendar and address book, chat, audio and video conferencing, files, tasks and notes. Native apps for desktop and mobile complement the web client.
Functionally, Carbonio is on a par with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace — without reproducing their lock-in. Established interfaces (Outlook, ActiveSync, CalDAV/CardDAV, IMAP/SMTP) ensure connectivity with existing clients.

Data Sovereignty by Design
Carbonio runs in your infrastructure — on servers in your own facility or in a European data centre of your choosing. No access under the US CLOUD Act, no cross-border transfer of your business data to third countries.
The Community Edition is open source. The commercial edition adds enterprise features such as Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM), compliant mail archiving, integrated backup and single sign-on (SAML/OIDC). Licensing is per user.
Replacing Microsoft Teams — Migration to Carbonio
Most organisations we work with are not starting from scratch: there is an existing Microsoft tenant, an Exchange system, a Google Workspace domain, a Zimbra installation (whose code heritage Carbonio continues) or a legacy Zarafa/Kopano environment. Carbonio imports mailboxes and calendars from all of these — we define the migration window and carry out the data transfer for you.
During the transition, Microsoft Outlook remains usable (via ActiveSync/IMAP). Chat and video conferencing workflows from Teams are built up in parallel within Carbonio and switched over step by step, so there is no productivity gap. We tailor the process to your change-management needs.
